75 per cent fee discount introduced for SMEs' first patent applications

According to an official announcement by TÜRKPATENT on 31 October, a 75 per cent discount will apply to application, search report, and examination report fees for first-time patent filings by SMEs. The amendment to the fee schedule was published in the Official Gazette on the same day.
The discount is not applied automatically to all patent proceedings or every filing; it requires a first-time application and compliance with the relevant criteria. Rights holders will be able to complete their transactions via the TÜRKPATENT Electronic Application System at the discounted rates. As a separate measure, the authority also announced a 50 per cent reduction in urgent search report fees for artificial intelligence patent applications under class G06N.
