Meta removes controversial clause opening door to news site scraping from commercial terms

In its new terms of service prepared for business accounts, Meta has withdrawn the term “train”, which had faced criticism for potentially permitting artificial intelligence training, and restricted the scope of use to “advertising and business products”. According to legal experts, the revised terms still contain broad scraping permissions; the new terms will come into effect on 30 October.
